Who is Mother Teresa?
I have great respect and admiration for Mother Teresa. It was amazing to find out that since a tender age of 12, Mother Teresa decided to become a missionary in India. She became a Roman Catholic nun, and helped the poor in Kolkata (Calcutta).
She also founded the the Missionaries of Charity. It is an order that helped the poor and the dying in the slums of 160 cities and 87 countries.
On September 4, 2016, she was canonized as Saint Teresa of Calcutta. This was done after there were two separate miracles of healing that were credited to her after her death.
The first miracle was the curing of a woman with a lump that was growing in her abdomen. The second miracle was the curing of a man who had bran abscesses.
I am so elated that Mother Teresa also received the Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. She is truly awesome, and we are so lucky that she was here on Earth, and helped so many people.
