Hi Everyone. The ghost stories for the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival continues. Today, I will share about the time when I was in Phuket. Specifically, just a couple of months after the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami.

I received messages from those departed because of the tsunami. And I gave those messages to their loved ones.

2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami

In 2004, there was a major earthquake in the Indian Ocean. And Thailand was one of the countries hit by the earthquake. And the tsunami too.

Sadly, nearly 230,000 people died from this. It was one of the deadliest disasters. The tsunami struck the coasts of Phuket, and caused flooding and damage to many beaches such as Patong, Karon, Kamala, Kata, etc.

Volunteered to Help the People in Phuket

People around the world were shocked by what happened. I was no exception.

In 2005, a spiritual group that I often meditate with organized a visit to Phuket, to help the people there. And they asked for volunteers. The goal was to help in many ways.

One of the ways was to do healing. For example, doing energy healing like reiki healing. The healing was to help people with physical and emotional trauma.

I thought to myself that this was something I could do. So I volunteered.

Healing at Treetops

The organizers of the spiritual group worked with Treetops hotel in Phuket. Treetops generously offered their spa facilities for the volunteer work. For me, they arranged for one of the spa rooms as a healing room. The massage bed was for the person to be healed to rest on.

Actually, I thought we would be doing group healing like how we did it in Singapore. I was feeling a little unprepared. I kept reminding myself this was for the people in Phuket. The ones who survived and trying to cope with the terrible disaster that happened.

So, I overcame my reservations. And gave intent to do what I was there to do.

Messages from the Dead

When the volunteer group arrived, we were informed that there was no one who registered for the healing sessions. Then one came, and another. Word got around. And soon all sessions for all the days we were there were fully booked.

And word got around especially about me. Because of my psychometric ability, during each healing session, I could ‘see’ everything of the person I was healing. In addition, I am able to see spirits.

So, for most of the healing sessions, when a departed soul arrives, I would receive messages from the other side for the person whom I was doing healing for. I would always ask permission from the person whom I was healing – if it was alright for me to share what I hear or see. All the them whom I did healing at Phuket were open minded and said ok.

During one session, a local Thai guy came for healing. I was never told who each person was, what they do, why they were still in Phuket, etc. I was never told anything about whom I was healing for.

When I started healing for this guy, I could see him going around helping others. ‘Oh, he is also a volunteer’, I told myself.

Then I heard a voice that said, “Rest and rejuvenate. How can you help others when you are exhausted?”

After the healing session, I shared that message with him. I could see he understood what the message was about. He thanked me, and told me he will do as advised.

In another session, a lady came for healing. She looked well and smiled a lot. During the healing, I saw a spirit joined us. He looked at her, and asked me to tell her that he is all right. He is in a better place. And ask her not to be worried, to make peace with the loss and carry on with her life.

After the healing, I told her about the spirit’s presence. And I gave her the message. She broke down and cried. And told me she lost her other half during the tsunami. She was very grateful for the message.

These were just some of the supernatural experiences I had when I did volunteer healing for the people at Phuket. There were many more who received messages from their departed loved ones. Some even received very specific messages, which were very personal, and I do not feel at liberty to share them.
