A Forced Pause and a Lesson Learned

A few years back, life threw me a curveball. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. The past years had been stressful with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and dealing with an ostomy system. That experience forced me to hit the pause button on life in a way I never expected.

Suddenly, all that rushing around seemed pointless. My body craved rest, and my mind craved peace. So, I listened.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Rest wasn’t exactly my forte. I’m a creative soul, and I always have a million projects bubbling away in my head.

So, after that period of rest, I naturally gravitated back to my creative pursuits – writing blog posts and creating videos for Flowing Love Meditation, of course!

But this time, something was different.

The Magic of Slow and Steady Wins the Race

I found myself moving at a slower pace, taking breaks to recharge, and allowing myself to truly connect with the work at hand.

In the past, I might have pushed myself to work hard and kept busy with creating content every day. This time, I savored the process. I took breaks to meditate, had quiet walks in nature, and even allowed myself some afternoon tea breaks to simply breathe and appreciate the moment.

Did it take longer than usual? Absolutely. But guess what? The quality of my content was significantly better.

My writing flowed more organically, and I captured the essence of each content produced that felt authentic and helpful. More importantly, I felt a sense of calm and accomplishment I hadn’t experienced before.

Maybe you’re thinking, “Yeah, that sounds great for Timotheus, but I have deadlines to meet and a family to support!”
